Overview

The Lead Mobile Developer will be responsible for leading the development of the Mobile Application which is used by millions of Planet Fitness members and prospects. In this role, you will help lead the development of the custom Mobile Application using programming and creative skills to support a comprehensive digital and technology strategy across many connected and varying digital platforms. You will work across the entire software development lifecycle from application design and layout to architecture, development, testing, and support. The Lead Mobile Developer will also work closely with Mobile Development and Digital Product teams to ensure the Mobile solutions are exceeding expectations.

The ideal candidate will be able to work our hybrid schedule out of our Hampton, NH office.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, coding, and deployment of the Mobile Application.
• Provide leadership and guidance to Mobile developers, ensuring the solutions are scalable, stable, secure and supports current and future business needs.
• Ensure Mobile developers adhere to coding standards, practices, and procedures.
• Ensure technology decisions align with the Mobile standards and strategy.
• Understand new Mobile trends and how they apply our Mobile Application to enable new and evolving business needs.
• Facilitate the research, evaluation, and selection of Mobile technology and products, as well as manage the standard configurations of the Mobile platform.
• Support all integrations to the Mobile Analytics along with supporting Mobile A/B testing initiatives.
• Participate in Mobile strategy definition, implementation planning, and large project estimation efforts.
• Define Mobile Application plans to address the gaps between the current and future Mobile architecture.
• Lead developers in Mobile architecture discussions and aid in the technical growth of the development team.
• Ensure mobile app is protected against Security Threats and lead all Mobile Threat mitigation work.
• Ensure Mobile Application conforms to all Mobile Usability and SEO standards.
• Manage IOS and Android Store presence and the Mobile Application deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related technical field preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering
• 5+ years of experience leading Mobile developers
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing on a Mobile Application primary on native iOS/Android
• Experience with MAUI or other Mobile App development frameworks and architecture
• Experience developing, integrating, and testing software, including 3rd party applications
• Experience evolving architectures including Application Interfaces (APIs), events, and integrations
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Lean, etc.)
• Ability to independently design and deliver large, complex projects
• Demonstrated ability to analyze business direction and problems, understand long-term vision and risk and developing strategic technical solutions
• Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives
• Excellent presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
• Creative, progressive, thought leadership with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
