Job summary

Child Mind Institute, Inc. seeks a Lead Scientific Software Engineer for MoBI in New York, NY. The role focuses on technical leadership, architecture, and pipeline development across MRI, EEG, and ecological assessments, with four+ days in the NYC office.

You will mentor engineers, ensure engineering excellence, and deliver scalable software for mental health research while collaborating with clinical teams and data scientists.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in MoBI modalities (MRI/EEG/physiological measures/eye-tracking or related tasks).
• Ability to lead architecture design and mentor teams.
• Experience with Unix/Linux HPC environments and data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of image and signal processing and ML applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead MoBI's technical architecture, standards, and best practices with strategic roadmap for Core pipelines.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, QC, and analysis workflows for MRI/EEG and related data.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality, reviews, and documentation.
• Contribute to scalable, well-documented code repositories and public distribution.
• Collaborate with clinical and scientific teams on software and data science needs.
