Child Mind Institute in New York, NY, seeks a Lead Scientific Software Engineer for MoBI to oversee technical architecture, pipelines, and analytics across neuroimaging and behavioral data. The role involves mentoring teams, defining standards, and delivering scalable, well-documented software for brain research.

The position is full-time, four days per week onsite at the NYC headquarters, with a competitive salary and strong benefits.

Formación

• PhD in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in at least one MoBI modality (MRI, EEG, physiological measures, eye-tracking, or ecological assessments).
• Demonstrated capacity for technical leadership including architecture design and team mentorship.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments on HPC or local systems.
• Deep knowledge of image and signal processing.
• Experience with data analysis and machine learning technologies.
• Proven ability to establish technical standards and best practices.

Responsabilidades

• Manage MoBI's technical architecture, standards, and best practices; provide technical leadership and guidance and define roadmap for MoBI Core pipelines and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement pipelines for collection, quality control, and analysis of data for MoBI projects.
• Specify analytic requirements for experiments to establish usability and validity of software pipelines.
• Program tasks, pipelines, data visualization tools, and machine learning utilities for scientific use cases.
• Contribute to code quality and sharing via GitHub or equivalent repositories; lead code reviews and establish quality standards.
• Write documentation and relevant text for scientific, clinical, or public distribution of knowledge.
• Mentor team members on technical approaches and professional development; support science teams with software and data needs.
