Job summary

Neighborly Company and its affiliates is looking for a Lead Mitigation Technician in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves providing extensive mitigation services after fire, water, smoke, or mold damage. You will enjoy a diverse work environment with opportunities for growth and on-call bonuses. Your Responsibilities as a Mitigation Technician

You’ll be a key component of our team providing mitigation services to our customers. As you grow in experience, here are some of the things you will do:

  • Become proficient in water restoration, mold remediation, and fire damage clean-up
  • Establish and maintain a schedule to ensure all services are delivered in a timely manner
  • Respond to water jobs and initiate water mitigation according to IICRC standards and Rainbow Restoration's process
  • Communicate with customers about scope of work and review necessary paperwork
  • Maintain all company restoration and cleaning equipment, keeping them clean and properly maintained to be available at all times
  • Perform marketing tasks to sell additional services or develop additional business as required
  • Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions
How to be Successful as a Lead Mitigation Technician

Your success as a Lead Mitigation Tech is entirely within your control. We won’t sugarcoat it; this can be a tough job. You’ll often work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, and other rooms in a home that are contaminated due to fire or flood or other damage. You can’t be afraid to get dirty.

Job Requirements for the Lead Mitigation Technician

Here are the minimum requirements to be considered for this job.

  • Mitigation and construction experience required. IICRC Certifications preferred and are compensation is based off of knowledge of the standards. Experience with industry software such as Dash, Xactanalysis and MICA(Mitigate) a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have construction experience.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to wear respiratory equipment and PPE.
  • Must be available to work after hours and weekend, and on rotation for emergency calls.
  • Clean Background check
  • Good Driving record

The pay range for this position is $18 - $35+ per hour with on-call bonuses and overtime available. Pay is based on quality experience.
