Job summary
Boeing Defense Space & Security ESG in Seal Beach, CA is seeking a Lead Mission Systems Engineer to lead modelling and simulation for first‑of‑kind space vehicles. You will collaborate with experts across the business to deliver rapid, workable solutions meeting customer needs.
Ideal candidates have depth in ACS/GNC, spacecraft operations or mission modelling, plus MBSE and cross‑functional teamwork. Onsite with options to El Segundo, Aurora or Herndon; TS/SCI clearance preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related fields; non-US equivalents acceptable.
- Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance active in past 24 months.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or similar language.
- 7 years of systems engineering experience.
- 2 years in a technical leadership role (Engineering Team Lead, IPT, TPM, etc).
Responsibilities
- Support technology integration for first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.
- Develop review packages for internal and external senior leadership.
- Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, demanding atmosphere.
- Develop physics-based mission simulations to inform system trade studies.
- Develop mission flight plans/concepts exploring astrodynamics approaches.
- Develop and maintain operational mission planning tools.
