Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a Lead Mission Critical Technician to oversee a team maintaining and servicing data center cooling and mechanical systems. The role requires ensuring uptime, adherence to MOPs, and rapid response within SLAs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred
• People Management experience
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or applicable type)
• Ability to read device schematics and manuals
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in live critical environments
• Willingness to travel to support service region

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with data center mission-critical environment.
• Understand cooling and power infrastructure in data centers.
• Maintain safety and procedure compliance; focus on precision.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center systems.
• Execute work via MOPs, SOPs, and change-management processes.
• Lead performance, set project and service contract expectations.
• Conduct regular performance reviews with team members.
• Maintain system redundancy and assess upstream/downstream impacts.
• Respond to alarms and emergency service calls per SLA.
• Document all readings, inspections, and conditions accurately.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintenance windows.
