Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a Lead Mission Critical Technician to oversee a team maintaining, troubleshooting, pre‑commissioning, and servicing data center mechanical and HVAC systems to support uptime and reliability.

This Level IV role focuses on ownership, leadership, and implementing complex maintenance plans, with emphasis on safety, MOP/SOP adherence, and strong communication with client operations and service management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HVAC or mechanical experience, with data center exposure.
• Strong mission-critical or data center background.
• EPA 608 Certification required; ability to read P&IDs, mechanical schedules, electrical one-lines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, pre-commissioning, and servicing of data center cooling and electrical systems.
• Lead PM/CM and outage activities per SLA guidance and SOPs.
• Mentor Level I–III technicians and coordinate with client operations.
• Maintain safety, redundancy, and documentation per procedures.
