Job summary

Actalent seeks a Robotics Engineer to lead and optimize a MIG welding robotic cell featuring ABB robots. You will design, program, and troubleshoot robotic welding processes to advance automation within a manufacturing environment.

You will run the cell across shifts, develop end-to-end processes, and collaborate with teams to integrate robotics into production. This contract-to-hire position is based in Peoria, IL.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ABB robotics experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in RAPID or RobotStudio programming.
• Experience with multi-pass MIG welding in robotic/ automated setting.
• Ability to design complete robotic cell processes and workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting of robotic systems and welding equipment.
• Willingness to work second or swing shifts.
• Experience with Fanuc robots or similar platforms.
• Background in automation engineering or robotic integration.

Responsibilities

• Run and manage a MIG welding robotic cell with two ABB robots.
• Develop and implement complete ROBOTIC welding cell process.
• Program ABB robots for MIG welding using RAPID/RobotStudio.
• Lead troubleshooting for programming, process, and equipment issues.
• Optimize welding paths, parameters, and sequences for quality and throughput.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate robotics into production.
• Support continuous improvement in robotics and welding processes.
• Work across shifts to ensure reliable operation of the robotic cell.
