Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; experience substitutable for education requirement.
• Previous coaching experience in a similar sport strongly preferred.
• Must possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned.
• Current First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion certification.
• MIAA certification required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Coaches participants in skills for maximum achievement in the sport.
• Provides leadership to athletic teams.
• Enforces standards of discipline and sportsmanship.
• Monitors athletes' adherence to MIAA rules and regulations.
• Attends coach meetings to discuss eligibility, schedules, and equipment needs.
• Assists in planning and scheduling in-season practices under Athletic Director guidance.
• Keeps up-to-date with necessary training for the sport.
• Creates an environment that supports student participation in athletics.
• Ensures safety rules and proper equipment usage are followed.
