Job summary

Chelsea Public Schools in Chelsea, MA is seeking a part-time Athletics - Middle School Assistant Coach for Fall Sports (SY26-27). Two stipend roles are listed: Softball Assistant Coach and Baseball Assistant Coach, each $1500.

Immediate start with the Chelsea Public Schools athletic program and responsibilities spanning practice planning, supervision, and student engagement. Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree, coaching experience, and current First Aid/CPR/AED and Concussion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; experience with children in an education setting may substitute.
• Previous coaching experience in a related sport strongly preferred.
• Must possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport.
• Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion is required.
• Must be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Coaches participants in basic and advanced skills for maximum achievement in the sport.
• Provides leadership to athletic team.
• Teaches and enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior.
• Monitors adherence to MIAA rules and regulations.
• Assists Athletic Director in planning and scheduling practice.
• Keeps up to date with required training for the sport.
• Attends coach meetings to discuss eligibility, schedules, equipment, and concerns.
• Creates an environment supporting student participation in athletics.
