Job summary

Chelsea Public Schools – Chelsea High School, Chelsea, MA is seeking qualified Athletics – High School Head Coach positions for winter sports. You will lead and develop student-athletes, plan practices, and ensure sportsmanship in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Previous related work experience with children in an education setting may be substituted for education requirement.
• Previous experience coaching in a similar sport strongly preferred.
• Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion.
• Must be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary.
• Certification as required by MIAA.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in basic and advanced skills necessary for maximum individual achievement in the applicable sport.
• Provides leadership to athletic team.
• Teaches, monitors, and enforces appropriate standards of discipline and sportsmanlike behavior.
• Monitors adherence by athletes to the rules and regulations of the MIAA.
• Follows the Coaches Responsibilities and Expectations – attached (adapted from MIAA Sportsmanship Manual).
• Assists the Athletic Director in planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in-season and adhering to the schedule set by the Athletic Director.
