Job summary

Temple University Health System seeks a Lead Medical Technologist – Microbiology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time role oversees Microbiology operations on day shifts and supports training and supervision of staff.

You will ensure reliable, accurate reports, drive quality improvements, maintain equipment and records, and ensure compliance with federal, state and accrediting regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or Chemistry.
• 3 years experience in a relevant laboratory section required.
• ASCP Certification preferred (American Society for Clinical Pathology); AMT Certification preferred (American Medical Technologists).

Responsibilities

• Assists in training and supervision of departmental personnel.
• Helps to determine that existing and new laboratory procedures are dependable, performed efficiently and reported properly.
• Implements improvements and ensures quality of apparatus, equipment and materials when directed.
• Maintains compliant record systems and performs related duties in the best interests of laboratory services to patients.
