Job summary

Valley View is seeking a Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist – Microbiology for a busy microbiology lab. The role involves aerobes, anaerobes, and susceptibility testing with state-of-the-art technology.

It is a full-time, day-shift position with a competitive hourly pay scale between $38.43 and $57.64 per hour. Responsibilities include setting up microbiological cultures, preparing samples for molecular testing, reviewing orders for accuracy, and solving problems in the absence of supervisors.

Qualifications

• Experience with microbiology cultures and susceptibility testing.
• Ability to review provider orders for accuracy and completion.

Responsibilities

• Sets up Microbiological cultures
• Prepares samples for molecular testing
• Reviews providers orders for accuracy and completion
• Utilizes resources and techniques effectively according to established policies and procedures
• Evaluates problems in the absence of Supervisors and solves those that are possible
• Communicates problems with the Clinical Facilitator, Supervisor or Director as appropriate
• Acts as a resource for the laboratory Facilitator, Supervisor and Director
