Job summary

Neogen is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead microbiology product and process improvements onsite in Lansing. You will own design specifications, mentor teams, and guide cross-functional decisions to ensure quality and continuity of commercialized products.

You will apply microbiology principles to manufacturing operations, define experimental strategies, and leverage statistical methods to support lifecycle decisions and ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of relevant technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex product and process improvement projects for microbiology product lines.
• Independently define experimental strategies and lead studies for product changes and verifications.
• Serve as SME for products, microbiological methods, and manufacturing processes.
• Own and maintain Design Specification Records and ensure evidence-based decisions.
• Define specifications for raw materials and inputs based on requirements and risk.
• Assess impact of changes and define studies to support qualification and implementation.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to drive sustainable solutions.
• Guide cross-functional teams through change management and manufacturing transfers.
• Use data and statistical methods to evaluate information and provide technical recommendations.
• Identify future improvement opportunities and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Champion Lean Six Sigma improvements across quality, cost, and process capability.
