Halifax Health ExpressCare in Daytona Beach, FL seeks a Charge Medical Technologist - Microbiology to provide timely, courteous service and perform laboratory analyses across patient age groups. Role includes supervision in supervisor’s absence, quality control, and collaboration with nurses and physicians.

Required are a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, Florida technologist license, internship, and ASCP certification.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical technology or related laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• Hospital-based, formal internship required.
• State of Florida Technologist License; Certification with ASCP or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Functions as supervisor of the shift in the absence of the supervisor for the smooth functioning of the shift.
• Performs routine procedures and techniques on newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood bank or other areas of the clinical or anatomical laboratory.
• Recognizes and resolves quality control issues and reports results accurately including critical values.
• Collects, receives and prepares specimens for analysis; ensures specimen integrity and proper patient identification.
• Assists in training, orientation, and supervision of new or less skilled lab personnel.

Clinical laboratory experience

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in Medical technology

Hospital internship

State of Florida Technologist License

ASCP certification or equivalent
