Job summary

Nike is seeking a merchandise financial planning lead for the Department Store team to forecast demand, plan supply, and meet financial targets, working cross-functionally with Planning, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, and Sales/Partner.

The role reports to the Planning Director and collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure Nike products are available at the right time, place, and supply levels while delivering against revenue and inventory targets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in merchandise planning, business planning, merchandising, sales, or retail buying.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret large data sets and communicate insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collate market data to inform the plan and assess risk for recommendations.
• Proficiency in retail metrics: Retail Sales, ST%, WOS, Inventories, Revenue and Margin; data manipulation for outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of consumers, competitors, and retail trends.
• Retail math fluency; ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
• Experience with merchandise and forecasting management systems.
• Advanced capabilities in Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; suitable mix accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead merchandise financial planning for the Department Store team and forecast demand and supply.
• Set top-down plans across Gross-to-Net and Stock & Sales.
• Inform franchise/style planning and end-to-end inventory forecasts.
• Reconcile forecasts and recap results with cross-functional and leadership teams.
• Lead seasonal financial account meetings to align with accounts open to buys and provide context to seasonal plans.
• Highlight in-season risks and inventory productivity levers to meet targets.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure information consistency and share methodologies.
• Engage with internal and external partners to influence outcomes and meet revenue/inventory targets.
• Ensure Nike products are available at the right time, place, and supply levels.
