Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced BIM/Detailer to support construction projects by creating and managing shop drawings, BIM models, and MEP coordination. You will lead 3D modeling efforts, review drawings, and collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate deliverables.

Responsibilities include handling RFIs, scheduling, and mentoring junior detailers, with emphasis on HVAC, piping, and sheet metal trades knowledge. This is a full-time on-site role in Houston.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with related experience or trade apprenticeship plus field experience.
• Foreman experience preferred for leadership responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of construction documents and trades.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage shop drawings and BIM models for mechanical systems.
• Coordinate MEP disciplines and provide advanced 3D modeling using BIM.
• Lead trade coordination and guide junior detailers.
• Support meetings, review deliverables, and assist with budget tracking.
