Job summary

Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Lead Mental Health Technician to help integrate patient-centered therapy and supervise Milieu staff. The role supports 24-hour unit management and ensures high-quality care aligned with regulatory requirements.

The position requires experience in psychiatric settings and a background in staff training, with certifications like BLS and Handle With Care/Verbal De-Escalation encouraged to enhance safety and care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; CNA or RBT preferred.
• Experience in psychiatric patient care techniques.
• Eligible for Basic Life Support and Behavioral Management training; Handle With Care/Verbal De-Escalation instructor certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, structured, therapeutic environment for residents.
• Ensure milieu staff follow programs, schedules, and protocols across units.
• Collaborate with leadership to measure outcomes and enforce policies.
• Model appropriate redirection and limits for resident behavior; manage time-outs/seclusions.
• Coordinate with HRD, DON and Nursing Management for supervision and accountability.
