Qualifications

• MLS certification required upon hire (ASCP).
• Experience in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Ability to organize workflow and supervise staff.
• Knowledge of CAP, CLIA and Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and documents performance of personnel; addresses issues.
• Organizes workflow to maximize department efficiency.
• Evaluates and implements new procedures and instruments.
• Ensures CAP/CLIA/JCAO compliance and audits.
• Assists with budgeting for equipment, supplies and staffing.
• Schedules Medical Technologists and may serve as CAP Inspector.

Education

Associates Degree with ASCP/NCA/AMT eligibility

Bachelors Degree with ASCP/NCA/AMT eligibility

HEW approved Medical Technology program or US Military lab training
