Job Summary and Qualifications

The Microbiology Lead Technologist conducts patient testing across all age groups, manages supplies, trains staff, reviews quality control, maintains equipment, and ensures compliance with safety and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include scheduling, evaluating staff, troubleshooting, and participating in quality and budget activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review results critically and report critical values promptly.
• Ensure timely testing and review weekly QC, documenting corrective actions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to minimize downtime.
• Assist in interviewing and evaluating staff, and provide counseling.
• Ensure proper staffing and test authorization completion.
• Participate in billing compliance and error alertness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• ASCP certification (Required)
• 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience (Preferred)
