Summary
The Lead Medical Support Assistant is assigned to the Health Administration Service of the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS). The Lead Medical Support Assistant coordinates functions of the team of employees who perform work at the GS-3, GS-4, GS-5 and GS-6 levels by providing expert advice in the completion of tasks or projects to accomplish the work of the clinics.

Position is located in Golden, CO.

Must be a current-permanent employee of Veterans Health Administration.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Providing specialized/expert administrative patient support and leadership to the MSAs.
  2. Coordinating functions of the team of employees at various GS levels by providing expert advice.
  3. Maintaining instructions, reference materials, and background info for staff.
  4. Staying current on procedures, policies, and directives.
  5. Obtaining decision information from supervisors on major issues.
  6. Balancing workload among employees and fostering team development.
  7. Interacting with team members to build consensus and coordinate initiatives.
  8. Making day-to-day work priority adjustments based on staffing.
  9. Seeking supervisor assistance for major issues.
  10. Notifying supervisor of training needs and staffing shortages.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00 pm
Position is not eligible for telework or virtual work.
