Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist II Lead at Central Regional Hospital in Butner, NC. You will support supervision and planning for the central laboratory serving multiple facilities, including quality control and safety oversight.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, LIS tasks, and acting as a technical resource for instrumentation and procedure troubleshooting to ensure accurate, timely test results for 800+ patients

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology, chemistry or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a medical laboratory; or Associate’s degree with three years of experience; or completion of a certified laboratory assistant course with four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with laboratory planning, budgeting, and management of operations.
• Assist with staff selection, performance evaluation, and LIS-related tasks.
• In supervisor’s absence, direct laboratory operations and supervise technologists and assistants.
• Serve as a technical resource for quality control, equipment, and procedure troubleshooting.
