Job summary

You will work with department staff to maintain accuracy, monitor QC results, and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science; transcripts may be reviewed for eligibility.
• Certification (MLS or categorical) OR certificate of completion/attestation from an accredited program.
• Foreign-educated candidates must provide credential evaluation (IERF or similar).
• For some specialties, a bachelor’s degree with one year of related experience is required.
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing accurately per policies and performance standards.
• Monitor abnormal results and ensure test result accuracy.
• Assist in inventory control and financial data for the department.
• Contribute to department/system projects and participate in training.
• Provide educational information to internal and external customers; participate in meetings.
• Process and prepare patient samples including collection and processing.
