Piedmont Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor at Eastside Medical Center to lead all aspects of the lab's operations, ensuring accurate testing, regulatory compliance and high-quality records.

The ideal candidate will have a hospital lab background, a relevant degree, leadership experience and certified technologist credentials, with a commitment to patient outcomes and teamwork.

Qualificações

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years of hospital experience required.
• Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP/AMT/AAB required on hire; AAB provisional not accepted.

Responsabilidades

• Lead all aspects of operation in assigned lab section, including records, reports, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate tasks with management; oversee staffing and training.
• Assist with test validations, regulatory compliance, quality control, and maintenance.
• Perform a variety of laboratory tests to support physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating and preventing disease.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of laboratory management, is responsible for leading all aspects of operation in assigned section/team/department, including preparation and maintenance of records, reports, policies and procedures; analysis of testing methodologies, employee training/staffing, technical oversight, and compliance. Works in collaboration with team members to ensure that tasks, priorities, goals and achievements are coordinated with management. Assist with test validations, regulatory compliance, quality control/assurance, and maintenance within assigned area. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating and preventing disease.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) Preferred

Work Experience

• 3 years of hospital experience Required
• Previous lead or supervisory experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations.
