Job summary

DuPont Spectrum Healthcare Solutions is seeking a New Product Development Engineer – Medical Films & Flexibles Packaging to lead end-to-end packaging innovations for healthcare devices. This role covers design, scale-up, prototyping, and tech transfer from concept to commercialization in a world-class R&D environment.

The position requires deep expertise in polymer film extrusion and conversion processes, plus strong regulatory knowledge (ISO 11607, ISO 13485, FDA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of industry experience, or 5+ years with advanced degree in NP development/R&D.
• Strong knowledge of medical device packaging standards (ISO 11607, ISO 13485) and sterilization processes.
• Hands-on polymer processing and packaging engineering, including film extrusion, coating/lamination, sealing, and related testing.
• Experience with design control, FMEA/DFMEA, verification/validation, and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of medical films and flexible packaging solutions from concept to commercialization.
• Translate customer needs into design specifications and manage prototype, pilot, and scale-up activities.
• Lead project teams through stage-gate development and manage scope, timelines, and resources.
• Develop verification/validation plans (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure regulatory compliance for packaging.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to align development with requirements and deliver technical presentations.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and apply DOE and statistical methods to optimize processes.
