Ray Therapeutics, Inc. in Berkeley, CA is seeking an Executive Medical Director, Clinical Development to shape clinical strategy and lead protocol and study execution for a portfolio of assets.

This role requires an MD/DO/PharmD with 7-10 years of biotech/drug development experience, deep ophthalmology or neuroscience expertise, and a track record in regulatory submissions. The position offers hybrid work with 3 days in the office and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or PharmD required with Ophthalmology, Retina or Neuroscience specialty preferred.
• 7-10 years of biotech/pharmaceutical/drug-development experience with leadership in clinical development.
• Experience across clinical phases; registrational studies and regulatory submissions strongly preferred.
• Deep expertise in ophthalmology and/or neuroscience, ideally including retinal disease.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial design, GCP, safety reporting, biostatistics, and regulatory expectations.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in a fast biotech environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for multiple clinical development programs and trials.
• Lead protocol design, study execution, data interpretation, and regulatory interactions.
• Develop regulatory submission materials, briefing documents, and health authority responses.
• Coordinate with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, and Program Management.
• Mentor clinical team members and promote a patient-centered development culture.
• Represent the company with investigators, regulators, and scientific community.
