Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a competent Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an office setting under supervision. You will perform phlebotomy, EKG, specimen collection and vital signs, support pre-visit planning and population management, and maintain a clean, organized exam area.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program, and national certification. BLS CPR is preferred; EMR experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• National Certification as Medical Assistant required or preferred.
• BLS CPR certification or equivalent.
• Experience in medical office settings preferred.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and basic clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Assist with pre-visit planning and population management support.
• Maintain supplies and assist with exam preparation and documentation in EMR.
• Chaperone and assist during patient examinations as needed.
• Ensure safe handling of vaccines and medications per policy.
