Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to support patient care by preparing patients for examinations and managing clinic operations on the Moross Road campus. You will step into roles such as receptionist, medical assistant, or lab assistant as needed.

The role requires completing an approved MA program with externship, at least three years of MA experience, and current BLS-C certification; CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant Program, or a formal medical assistant program with a minimum of five years continuous work experience as a Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience.
• Completion of a clinical externship.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Current BLS-C certificate.
• One of the following certifications: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT).

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant Program, or a formal medical assistant program with a minimum of five years continuous work experience as a Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience.
• Completion of a clinical externship.
• Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.
• Current BLS-C certificate.
• One of the following certifications: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or NCMA (NCCT).
