Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Medical Assistant with leadership experience to oversee clinical operations in a large multi-physician practice. You will help prepare exam rooms, charts, and patient flow, while supporting physicians with exams and procedures.

The role requires 3 years of related experience and MA credentials with BLS. You will ensure compliance with HIPAA/OSHA and participate in quality improvement activities in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant credentials must be obtained from in-person proctored exams (NHA/AAMA/AMT).
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Driver’s license not required.

Responsibilities

• Interact directly with patients in clinic setting; obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and verify medications.
• Prepare for office hours by obtaining charts, scheduling tests, and setting up exam rooms.
• Assist with examinations, procedures and lab tests.
• Administer medications under physician or NP orders; vaccines and injections as needed.
• Direct patient flow and coordinate scheduling; train new Medical Assistants.
