Job summary

Maricopa County Department of Public Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Lead to serve as a clinical and operational leader in public health clinics and mobile health settings. You will perform hands-on duties such as patient intake, phlebotomy, vaccination administration, and insurance verification while coordinating workflow and quality improvement.

The role requires at least two years of MA experience with EMR and vaccines.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the medical field as a Medical Assistant, including EMR usage, venipuncture, and vaccines.
• Certificate of Completion as a Medical Assistant from an accredited Health Care Training Program.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for appointments and maintains patient flow on Mobile Health Unit and clinics.
• Performs routine clinical duties: vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, injections, and POC testing.
• Assists providers with examinations, treatments, diagnostics and procedures per protocols.
• Documents patient care, lab results, treatments, and services in EHR and required platforms.
• Registers patients, processes insurance and payments, and maintains records.
• Ensures units and clinics are stocked, clean, and equipped with supplies and vaccines.
• Supervises clinic operations and outreach activities, guiding staff and resolving issues.
• Maintains infection prevention, safety, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
