Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Summit Rheumatology Clinic in Littleton, CO is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant who will oversee daily clinic operations, patient flow, and staff coordination. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00–5:30, with a 10-hour shift.

You will act as the primary resource for Medical Assistants, ensure accurate EMR documentation, manage referrals, and support providers during procedures while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
• 3+ years related experience in clinical settings.
• 1+ year of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily clinic operations to ensure efficient workflows.
• Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day clinic operations.
• Manage patient flow, keep appointments on schedule, and answer calls.
• Assign Medical Assistant duties and provider pairings to maximize access.
• Document patient assessments and vital signs for provider review.
• Assist with examinations, specimens, and clinical procedures.
• Process tasks: specimen collection, blood draws, referrals, prior authorizations.
• Maintain EMR documentation and patient records with accuracy.
• Coordinate referrals and infusion-related activities to ensure continuity.
• Monitor tasks, emails, and provider requests to complete care timely.
• Review KPIs and performance metrics to guide priorities.
• Maintain exam rooms and lab spaces in clean, compliant state.
• Oversee supply inventory and restock as needed.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve operational issues.
• Communicate priorities and updates to staff daily.
• Ensure end-of-day reconciliation and secure the clinic.
