Via Separations is seeking a Lead Mechanical Technician to join our Internal Systems group in Watertown, MA. This hands-on leadership role builds, assembles, and maintains internal test skid equipment and pilot support systems, reading engineering drawings and working safely around hazardous liquids and gases.

You will lead build sequencing, order material, coordinate with engineers, and mentor colleagues while ensuring quality and safety.

Formación

• 10+ years hands-on experience assembling, fabricating, and maintaining mechanical and piping systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs and specifications.
• Experience with hand tools and shop equipment; safety around hazardous liquids and gases.
• Experience ordering or specifying fabrication/maintenance materials.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, piping, and basic electrical/controls.
• Knowledge of RO and high-pressure components and safe handling.
• Ability to lead tasks and mentor others

Responsabilidades

• Assemble and fabricate internal test equipment and skids (pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, controls).
• Read drawings and specs to plan builds; ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Lead build sequencing and assign tasks to teams; maintain quality and safety.
• Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors; support lab equipment upgrades.
• Maintain and repair existing test skids; troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Work safely around hazardous liquids and gases; enforce PPE protocols.
• Mentor colleagues and promote shop safety and standards
