Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in Reno, NV to lead complex mechanical projects from preconstruction through completion. You will coordinate with field teams, VDC/CAD, fabrication shops, and project accountants to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires 5+ years of mechanical PM experience in construction, strong leadership, budgeting, and contract negotiation. A Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical project management experience in construction.
• Experience coordinating with field teams, subcontractors and vendors, and negotiating contracts.
• Strong leadership and ability to lead and manage a team.
• Excellent PM skills: scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to anticipate issues.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of mechanical projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Track and forecast project-level financials, providing updates to executives.
• Coordinate with field supervisors, fabrication shop, VDC/CAD/Detailing personnel, project engineers, and project accountants.
• Produce and manage project schedules and meet deadlines.
• Handle change management: assemble estimates, budgets, and proposals.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Negotiate contracts for best terms.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates.
• Lead and manage the project team and foster a collaborative environment.
• Oversee budgeting and contract management for financial efficiency.
