Job summary

Leitch Musgrove & McNeal Inc is seeking a Project Engineer to act as the technical lead for mechanical and electro-mechanical design in metallurgical, specialty metals, hazardous waste treatment, and aerospace industries. You will guide a design team, ensure compliance with standards, and support sales and customer projects across plasma welders, melters, and vacuum systems.

Qualifications

BSME degree or equivalent from a four-year engineering program.
Minimum 3 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer/Project Engineer or similar.
Experience in high temperature furnaces, heavy material handling equipment, or other capital equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as engineering project team leader, assigning tasks and guiding design team.
Approve final designs, changes, drawings, and specifications per standards and contracts.
Plan and coordinate engineering design efforts, schedules, budgets, and staffing for projects.
Lead internal and external design reviews with customers, vendors, and teams.
Develop engineering specs for subsystems and components; support sales with sizing analyses and layouts.
Review customer specs to assess feasibility and applicability of products.
Produce written reports, proposals, and technical documentation.
