Job summary

Red Wing Shoe Company is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to lead operations, troubleshoot processes, and drive continuous improvements across mechanical, electro-mechanical, and chemical production lines. You will program software-based equipment and collaborate with vendors to optimize efficiency, quality and safety while mentoring operators and documenting procedures.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of related experience, strong CAD skills, and a solid foundation in Lean

Qualifications

• Five to seven years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Auto CAD or Other Mechanical CAD Experience
• PLC or C++ Programming (General Programming Experience)
• Working knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing is mandatory

Responsibilities

• Monitor and trouble-shoot manufacturing process performance to maintain optimum process efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Routine programming of software-based equipment (CNC/PLC/Robotics/Automation) and vendor engagement/management for such as required
• Lead and/or participate in creating mechanical assembly fixtures using CAD software.
• Provide leadership for assembling, testing and qualifying computer stitch pallets. Make modifications to stitch programs as required.
• Conduct in process quality tests to ensure processes meet requirements.
