Job summary

Henny Penny Corporation is seeking a Manager, New Product Development Mechanical, to lead the Mechanical Engineering Center of Excellence in Eaton, OH. You will guide engineers, oversee system architectures, and align product development with quality, schedule, and cost targets.

With 10+ years in engineering and 3+ years in leadership, you’ll influence capital projects and collaborate across global teams. The role offers ESOP ownership, bonus opportunity, and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, aerospace engineering, or physics.
• Master’s degree in engineering or MBA a plus.
• Min 10+ years of combined engineering experience; ideally starting as an individual contributor, then transitioning to management roles.
• Min 3 years of supervisory experience and technical leadership.
• Track record of growing and scaling high performing engineering teams with a collaborative culture.
• Experience in the capital goods or food service equipment industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate department team members to ensure NPD projects meet defined objectives and develop competencies within the Mechanical Engineering Center of Excellence.
• Responsible for hiring and staff development of Mechanical Engineers; monitor quality of engineering solutions.
• Work with teams and vendors to review system architectures for sustained growth.
• Coordinate with product management to ensure products are engineered and manufactured to quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Establish and manage budgets for New Product Development and long-term capital planning.
• Develop annual plans for major new product development projects and process improvements.
