Job summary

Henny Penny in Eaton, OH, is seeking a Manager of New Product Development Mechanical to lead mechanical development for NPD projects and to own the Mechanical Center of Excellence. You will guide Mechanical Engineers, hire and develop staff, and ensure outputs meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of combined engineering experience; start as IC and move to management.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience and technical leadership.
• Track record of scaling high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience in capital goods or food service equipment preferred.
• Ability to work with outside resources to meet budgets and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate department team members to meet objectives and build competencies.
• Responsible for hiring and staff development of Mechanical Engineers.
• Monitor quality of engineering solutions and drive efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams and vendors to review system architectures for growth.
• Coordinate with PM to ensure products meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
• Establish and manage budgets for NPD and maintain capital plans.
• Develop annual plans for major development projects and improvements.
• Maintain relations with Quality and Manufacturing for smooth hand-offs.
• Provide thought leadership on mechanical systems, IoT, and related tech.
• Foster ownership and accountability for projects and timelines.
