Job summary

Zachry Group seeks a Mechanical Foreman to oversee installation, assembly, dismantling and maintenance of heavy machinery. You will guide crews, read blueprints, and ensure adherence to safety standards on site.

Responsibilities include aligning gear systems, rigging, and performing preventive maintenance, with extensive use of precision tools. The role demands strong problem-solving and teamwork in a demanding construction environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial machinery installation and maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings and engineering specifications.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Journeyman precision millwright tools knowledge.
• 4–5 years of industrial construction/maintenance experience.
• 3 years millwright experience in power generation plants.
• Willing to work 7 days as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, inspect, verify and document scope of work.
• Use precision leveling and alignment tools to measure angles and distances.
• Fit bearings, align gears and attach motors per blueprints.
• Dismantle machines using hand tools.
• Assemble and install equipment and foundations.
• Weld, bolt and fasten machinery to structures.
• Operate lathes, grinders and files.
• Construct foundations and fabricate parts.
• Move and position equipment using cranes, hoists and rollers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and lubrication.
• Follow supervisor directions and perform other duties as assigned.
