Job summary

City of New York seeks a Supervisor of Mechanical Installations and Maintenance to oversee FOMS system operations citywide, including inspection, installation, and repair activities. You will supervise a team of six staff, coordinate with NYCHA departments, and manage work orders via Maximo, Oracle, and Movaris.

The role requires a high school diploma and extensive relevant experience; 55-a program eligibility is noted, with a pathway to civil service status.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time satisfactory experience in installation, repair and/or inspection of mechanical equipment in buildings or facilities, with a minimum building size specification as stated.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience acceptable if they meet the criteria provided in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection, troubleshooting, installation, repair, and renovation of FOMS systems citywide.
• Prepare, close, and review Maximo Work Orders and work orders for IT departments for repairs.
• Provide specialized technical support for FOMS and remedial systems citywide.
• Initiate, monitor, and expedite material orders and service requests via Oracle and Movaris systems.
• Lead staff (3 maintenance workers/3 laborers) and coordinate with NYCHA units and vendors.
• Respond to oil spills within required timeframes and coordinate with DEC and NYCHA representatives.
