Job summary

Stellar Energy Americas Inc. seeks a Mechanical Foreman to coordinate all mechanical aspects of module building and piping assembly.

You will lead teams to ensure proper fitting, hydro testing, and instrumentation, while aligning with the superintendent on timelines and reducing rework. The role requires extensive shipyard mechanical experience and welding expertise, with strong emphasis on safety, training, and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 15+ years shipyard mechanical experience with 5+ years as foreman.
• 3+ years welding experience (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW).
• 2+ years vocational technical training preferred.
• OSHA-10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify teams for crew structure.
• Verify training level of crew members and seek qualifications as needed.
• Collaborate with the superintendent to achieve project goals.
• Monitor tasks and ensure critical layout and cuts minimize rework.
• Enforce SOPs, safety procedures, hydro, and chemical injection practices.
• Improve operations to reduce man hours and improve safety.
• Serve as lead on projects and direct teams.
• Coordinate with Engineering Department.
• Ensure equipment safety and proper maintenance.
• Meet company and customer needs.
• Maintain Kanban stock and shadow boards usage.
• Report daily turnover across shifts with detail.
• Monitor material usage for each project.
• Apply disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain Fab Shop areas and safety protocols.
• Verify certifications and calibrations of tools/equipment with QA/QC.
• Coordinate with shipping/receiving for 'loose ship' items.
• Verify tags, logbooks, drains, flow arrows, and instrumentation.
