Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Technical Manager of the Large Mechanisms team in Titusville, FL to lead mechanical engineers in designing and delivering ground mechanical systems and GSE for launch operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience with large-scale mechanical systems or GSE.
• 4+ years of direct engineering management or team lead experience.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with heavy-duty mechanism types and dynamic loading analyses.
• 3D CAD modeling and PDM/PLM experience (Creo/Windchill).
• Experience designing and analyzing bolted connections and load-bearing joints.
• Experience with external design and fabrication partners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for the large mechanisms team and set engineering direction.
• Review and approve CAD models, FEA, tolerance analyses, and drawings.
• Drive design reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Directly manage Mechanical Engineers and develop talent.
• Oversee external design/fabrication partners through full project lifecycle.
• Interface with program managers and operations leads to ensure launch-site readiness.
