Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our Blade Components team. You will own design, analysis, and evaluation of critical blade components, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost priorities.

You will bridge theory and factory reality, develop manufacturable concepts, and impact the full product lifecycle from field issues to NTI initiatives. You will collaborate across Design, Manufacturing, and Quality to build consensus, define design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in metallic or composite structural design, testing, or relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and testing, mechanics, failure mode analysis, and building-block approach.
  • Experienced with metallic or composite prototype building.
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Champion of Engineering Excellence: lead by setting the gold standard for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, guiding every design decision and project execution.
  • Strategic Technical Authority: be the go-to SME for blade components, shaping strategy and internal policies.
  • Architect of Manufacturable Designs: create blade concepts balancing structural requirements with manufacturability, resolving disconnects with proactive plans.
  • End-to-End Problem Solver: resolve field quality issues, optimize production, and pioneer NTI/NPI initiatives with data-driven analysis.
  • Cross-Functional Catalyst: act as technical bridge across departments to align stakeholders and project scopes.
  • Project Leadership & Mentorship: lead complex projects with autonomy and coach junior engineers.
  • Risk & Quality Advocate: perform high-level risk assessments and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Strategic Market Insight: understand competitive landscape to differentiate products.
  • Trusted Advisor & Influencer: explain complex technical information clearly to drive decisions.
  • Continuous Innovation: bring fresh perspectives and improve lifecycle management.
