Job summary

Soap Creek Resources is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to tackle challenging equipment issues and directly improve plant performance in a steel/heavy industrial setting.

The role involves troubleshooting on the plant floor, developing specifications, managing contractors, and leading major projects from concept through completion, with travel to support installations and evaluations. Experience with melting equipment and environmental systems is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline, with 10+ years preferred.
• Hands-on experience on heavy industrialMechanical equipment in steelmaking or metals environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, lead reliability initiatives, and manage capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and efficiency.
• Support melting and steelmaking equipment upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide engineering expertise for large environmental systems (baghouse/dust collection).
• Lead capital and facility improvement projects from concept through completion, including scoping and scheduling.
