ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support and improve mechanical systems in a heavy industrial steel operation. You will work on equipment installations, reliability improvements, and capital projects that impact safety, uptime, and production efficiency.

You'll troubleshoot on the plant floor, develop specifications, manage contractors, and lead major projects from concept to completion, with travel to support global site activities.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in steelmaking or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment, hydraulics, and plant systems.
• Experience with melting equipment, furnaces, or steelmaking operations is a strong plus.
• Experience with baghouse or environmental systems is highly desirable.
• Experience managing capital projects, installations, budgets, and schedules.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to collaborate across maintenance, operations, engineering, and vendors.

Aufgaben

• Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems across the facility.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and efficiency.
• Support melting and steelmaking equipment upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide engineering for large baghouse and environmental systems ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Lead capital and facility improvement projects from concept through installation, commissioning, completion.
• Develop project scopes, specifications, bid packages, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Evaluate suppliers, review proposals, negotiate contracts, oversee outside resources.
• Coordinate with internal teams to keep projects moving forward.
• Manage projects to budgets, schedules, safety requirements, performance expectations.
• Travel locally and internationally as needed.
• Maintain safety commitment and regulatory compliance.
