Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive electromechanical packaging design, CAD modeling in SolidWorks, and rigorous thermal management for complex enclosures and assemblies.

You will lead design reviews, perform simulations (FEA/CFD/ANSYS), and mentor a team while coordinating with purchasing and manufacturing to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent).
• 6+ years in electromechanical packaging design, CAD, heat transfer/electronics cooling.
• Strong simulation/verification methods: FEA, CFD, ANSYS, etc.
• Strong knowledge of project management processes.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate in generating system specifications and set long-term product/ process strategies.
• Analyze, design, and develop enclosures, components, and assemblies; perform tolerance studies and simulations.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure robustness and manufacturability.
• Write analysis and test plans; execute tests and correlate results with analysis.
• Prepare and maintain project notebooks and BOMs; manage mechanical projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Mentor and direct the efforts of other Mechanical Engineers and technicians.
