Mechanical Engineer - Department Lead

Remote with ~20% travels

Up to $150,000

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to remotely join an established architecture and engineering firm. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will develop and oversee all aspects of design and construction of primarily federal projects.

This position will require remote coordination with other remote disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, subcontractors, etc.) as well as the ability to guide younger staff.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee multiple projects of larger scope and coordinate with other disciplines, externally and internally.
• Prepare budgets, monitor budget restraints & schedule deadlines
• Obtain additional works authorizations for scope changes
• Manage and coordinate the work of other technical staff and designers
• Demonstrate accountability of managed projects
• Apply critical thinking to solve complex problems, as well as thinking outside of the box to generate multiple solutions
• Prepare and lead meetings with stakeholders
• Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews
• Conduct field surveys and program documentation
• Troubleshoot software and technical issues
• Assist in development of project staffing and work forecasting
• Prepare construction drawings for public and private bidding
• Exemplify self-motivation, work in a professional & positive manner, and demonstrate strong organizational skills

Requirements:

• 8+ years’ experience in the building industry or environment
• Lead MEP departments - specifically design
• Proficiency in Revit
• PE License
• LEED Accreditation (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence
• Willingness to wear multiple hats
• The ability and willingness to travel for site visits

Software Experience:

• Revit
• Energy modeling programs are a plus
• Lidar scanning and surveying are a plus
