Job summary

Clear. is seeking a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive design delivery for cGMP manufacturing and cleanroom facilities across key US sites (Conshohocken, Dallas, Raleigh-Durham, Phoenix).

This role offers full lifecycle ownership from concept through commissioning and validation, with client-facing responsibilities. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers, ensure ISPE and GAMP alignment, and coordinate with process, automation, EC&I, and validation groups to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• PE license required
• Hands-on CQV exposure and ability to drive design through qualification
• Experience leading mechanical design on cGMP or high-purity capital projects

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery for cGMP manufacturing and cleanroom facilities from concept to handover
• Oversee cleanroom HVAC, utilities, and central plant systems
• Coordinate with process, automation, EC&I and validation teams as client-facing technical lead
• Support construction and drive startup, commissioning and qualification through to completion
• Ensure ISPE and GAMP standards and manage documentation for regulatory review
• Manage and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers

Our client is a global engineering and construction partner behind some of the largest cGMP manufacturing facilities under construction in the US - biologics, fill-finish, API and advanced therapies.

This is full lifecycle ownership: concept, detailed design, construction, and all the way through commissioning, qualification and validation. You stay with the project until it's handed over and working.

What you'll be doing

• Leading mechanical design delivery for cGMP manufacturing and cleanroom facilities from concept to handover
• Cleanroom HVAC, pressure cascades and containment; clean utilities including WFI, purified water, clean steam and process gases; black utilities and central plant
• Coordinating with process, automation, EC&I and validation teams as the client-facing technical lead
• Supporting construction, then driving start-up, commissioning and qualification through to completion
• Working to ISPE and GAMP standards, and owning documentation through regulatory review
• Managing and developing a team of mechanical engineers and designers

What we're looking for

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE required
• Proven experience leading mechanical design on cGMP or comparable high-purity capital projects
• Hands-on CQV exposure - you've taken a design through qualification, not just handed it to someone who did
• Facilities and capital projects background rather than product or R&D design
• Happy to be site-facing and client-facing through delivery
• Based in or willing to relocate to the one of the locations listed at the top of the advert
