Job summary

Clear. is seeking a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer for semiconductor facilities in Chandler/Phoenix, AZ, with relocation options to Dallas, Raleigh-Durham, and Conshohocken.

The role leads end-to-end mechanical design for fab and cleanroom projects and oversees teams of engineers and designers. The position offers a $160k-$200k DOE salary with full benefits and a strong bonus program, and requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with PE, and proven capital-project leadership in high-purity

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required. PE license strongly preferred.
• Experience leading mechanical design on large-scale capital projects such as fabs or cleanrooms.
• Site-facing and client-facing delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery for fab and cleanroom projects from concept to handover.
• Oversee HVAC, process cooling water, chilled water, exhaust/abatement, gases and central utilities systems.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, controls and construction teams to ensure constructible designs on site.
• Support tool install and commissioning, resolving technical issues during construction.
• Drive start-up and commissioning and close out technical queries to completion.
• Manage and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers.

Our client is a global engineering, procurement and construction partner delivering some of the most complex fab and cleanroom projects being built in the US today.

This role owns the mechanical design end to end. You pick up the concept, take it through detailed design, stay with it through construction, and see it through start-up and commissioning. If you've been frustrated by handing designs over and never seeing how they land, this is the opposite of that.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading mechanical design delivery for fab and cleanroom projects from concept through to handover
• Cleanroom HVAC and air systems, process cooling water, chilled water, exhaust and abatement, bulk and specialty gases, central utility buildings
• Coordinating with process, electrical, controls and construction teams to get a genuinely constructible design onto site
• Supporting tool install and hook-up scopes, and resolving technical issues live during construction
• Driving start-up and commissioning, and closing out technical queries through to completion
• Managing and developing a team of mechanical engineers and designers

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE required
• Track record leading mechanical design on large-scale capital projects - fabs, cleanrooms, pharma, data centres, or comparable high-purity process environments
• Facilities and capital projects background rather than product or R&D design
• Comfortable being site-facing and client-facing through the delivery phase
• Based in or willing to relocate to the one of the locations listed at the top
