Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Davidson, NC is seeking a Mechanical Development Engineer to own the development of rotary screw airends from concept to production. You will lead cross-functional teams, define specs, and drive tests, validations, and design reviews in a global engineering setting.

The role requires a strong mechanical design background, leadership capabilities, and hands-on problem solving with tolerances, clearances, and GD&T.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience with tight tolerances and challenging mechanical parameters.
  • Demonstrated project leadership and execution on two or more full cycles.
  • Experience developing test plans, analyzing results, and supporting engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and development for rotary screw airends from concept through production.
  • Define specifications and conduct technical design reviews.
  • Execute projects to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets.
  • Perform engineering analysis, trade studies, and solution selection.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource needs.
