KLA Corporation in Milpitas, CA, seeks a senior mechanical design engineer to lead multi‑chamber subsystem design, integration and validation. You will develop ultra‑clean vacuum hardware, craft precise chamber interfaces, and drive analyses to ensure stability and contamination control.

The role requires 8–12+ years in mechanical design of complex tools, with CAD/PLM and vacuum experience. You will collaborate across optics, metrology, PLC controls, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–12+ years in mechanical design and integration of complex systems.
• Experience with vacuum operation schemes and PLC interlocks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, integration and validation of multi‑chamber subsystems.
• Develop ultra‑clean vacuum system hardware and precision mechanisms.
• Perform structural/thermal/vibrational analyses to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with optics, metrology, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Plan, execute and oversee prototype and pre‑factory tests with metrics.
• Lead design reviews (CDR, DDR) and mentor engineers.
